At Vela Boat Trip Barcelona, we are a passionate team of young locals dedicated to sharing the beauty of our coastline in a way that feels personal and authentic. Unlike large-scale tour operators, we captain the boats ourselves, offering an intimate, slow-paced, high-quality alternative to the mass tourism that has taken over in recent years.

Our story began in 2022, when we purchased our first boat in Valencia and embarked on an unforgettable three-day journey sailing it directly to Barcelona. This adventure marked the beginning of our dream: to rejuvenate the city's charter industry with fresh energy, exceptional service, and experiences that feel truly special. Behind Vela Boat Trip are Álvaro Fernández and Alessio Bona, two young Barcelonians with a shared vision—to create unique, high-end sea experiences that bring together tourists, expats, and locals alike.

From the moment we set sail, our mission has been clear: to diversify our offerings and ensure that anyone who steps aboard enjoys an unforgettable experience on the water. Whether it’s a relaxing sunset sail, a wakeboarding or waterskiing session, an exciting fishing trip, or even a romantic proposal at sea, we make it happen—all with Vela’s signature quality and personal touch.

One of the most exciting chapters in our journey so far has been our involvement in the 2024 America’s Cup, the world’s most prestigious sailing competition. As Barcelona became the epicenter of high-performance sailing, we had the incredible opportunity to bring fans from all over the world right to the heart of the action. For three months, we navigated the racecourse, offering an exclusive front-row seat to witness the speed, precision, and drama of these cutting-edge racing yachts. It was an unforgettable experience—not just for our guests but for us as well. Being part of such a historic event, surrounded by the energy of passionate sailing enthusiasts, was truly the highlight of our journey so far. It reinforced our love for the sea, our commitment to high-quality experiences, and our excitement for what’s to come.

Today, our fleet has grown to include two beautiful sailboats—a Bavaria 41 and an Oceanis 31—as well as a Regal 2000ES motorboat, allowing us to offer an even wider range of experiences on the water. But this is just the beginning. With our passion for the sea and our commitment to delivering high-quality, personalized adventures, we’re already planning to grow the Vela family.
